I had an injury to my face many years ago and experienced something similar. The maxillary nerve, responsible for sensation in my cheek and nose, was severed and resulted in a total loss of sensation in these places. For example, I could touch my cheek and feel like I was touching the inside of my nose.

Dent is my congressman. I typically vote Democrat and, admittedly, I never voted for Dent but he’s a good guy. I often disagree with him politically but I never felt like we weren’t on the same team.

I’ll never forget a telephone town hall that he did about the affordable care act. He had his conservative opposition to the law but he was reasonable. I stayed on this phone call for over an hour listening to this poor man wade through the hurricane of stupid that was my fellow constituents.
